Challenges and market dynamics
Ireland's construction market continues to face several key challenges, although there are signs of stability. The housing sector now appears to be the top performer, with private housing suggested to be performing better than others. However, the industry is still grappling with skilled labour shortages, which remains the most significant challenge according to our survey respondents.

The shortage of qualified workers across most trades continues to put pressure on contractors and subcontractors. This is followed closely by concerns about government red tape, bureaucracy and delayed approvals, as well as rising costs of construction.
